Something from the Bah'glenn Vault: the Glomporr creature!

I've been sculpting stuff for about a little over a year, almost close to two, and I keep forgetting about alot of my earlier projects. This one, for example, was made waaaaay back in early April of this year and I just never got around to posting pictures of it anywhere. Now that I have my blog set up, I figure here is as good a place as any to show it.

Creature Name: Glomporr ("Glomp-Ore")
Diet: Meat
Known Information: "Glomporrs are large beasts that make their homes in both dry arid locations or in swamps. They are solitary beasts, coming together only to mate and raise offspring every spring. A glomporr hunts by burying itself under sand/mud. When prey walk past, vibrations trigger the glomporr and it strikes quickly with the posionous stinger on it's tail. The stinger injects a powerful paralyzing poison that stuns the prey allowing the glomporr to eat it without a struggle. It's vicious claws can tare through even the thickest armor and it's jaws can crush bones as if they where stale bread. Glomporrs are fairly stubborn beasts however and often don't back down from a potential meal, even if outnumbered. Their thick skin provides some protection but often not enough to warrant staying to fight. The beasts crawl around on their two massive limbs, dragging their bodies through the terrain to get from place to place. Very slow, they rely on their strength, thick hide and poisons to protect themselves. Many beings across the universe use glomporrs as 'pit beasts' to devour any intruders onto their property. It is rumored that the Prutarran High Council keeps a glomporr in their main building as a deterent to intruders, but it has never been confirmed or denied by the council."

I sculpted the body using Super Sculpey, and then used colored sculpey for the teeth, claws, eyes ang tongue (I ran out of white sculpey before I made the tip for the tail, hence why its the same color as the rest of the body). I figured, if done this way, it looks like the animal is supposed to be colored this way and I wouldn't have to paint it. I'm always hesitent to paint my stuff, as I'm not sure if doing so will mess it up or not. One of these days I'll have to get around to trying that though. It's mouth IS articulated as I slipped a cut sprue from a model kit in to act as a pin. Works great, especially for eating glyos guys heh heh heh.

Two new Customs made for my Fiancee

While hanging out in our new apartment with some friends a thought of silver & gold head sculpts popped into my mind. I busted out my sculpting stuff right there and over the course of the evening made two new heads for my fiancee Beth. I didn't know what I wanted them to look like exactly, so these were works in progress throughout the night. They came out pretty good, I've since re-worked Syl'virr's shoulders though, so I'll post an updated pic of him later on.

Names: Gohld & Syl'virr ("Gold" & "Sil-Vur")
Bio: "When a Metahlon is born, it buds off of an adult metahlon and becomes a second being. Gohld & Syl'virr changed the norm by both being born at the same time and from the same parent. Unfortuneatly, their birth resulted in the death of the adult metahlon, but made the two of them unique among their race. The other metahlons then viewed them as outcasts and they were banished from their homeworld. Since then, they explore the spaceways in their ship, the Conundrum, trying to help those in need. Gohld possesses an enhanced intellect, one that rivals some of the smartest minds on any of the known worlds and Syl'virr's strength is almost without limit. When approaching any problem or obstacle, Gohld thinks things through to come to the most logical conclusion where as Syl'virr just charges in head first. Gohld is also a bit more reserved when speaking with others unless about a familiar/enjoyable topic. Syl'virr, on the other hand, has the subtlety of a neon brick and just prefers to be blunt and to the point. This way of thinking, combined with immense physical strength, makes most beings unable to deter Syl'virr from completing a task. Despite their opposite tendencies, they do get along for the most part as they are essentially two halves of one being. As for other abilities, both possess excellent night vision and the glow of their eyes often unnerves allies & enemies alike. Gohld also possesses a low-form of telekinesis that can be strengthened with practice, and Syl'virr can absorb energy from the environment to add more power to physical attacks.

(Notes on the Metahlon ("Meh-taal-on") Race- Reproduction is achieved through budding, so most metahlons are not technically male or female; they all look rather un-belonging to either gender. Each metahlon will birth offspring once a year and always one "child" at a time; seeing twins born had never happened before Gohld & Syl'virr's birth. Their bodies are composed of a living metal-like material that is very resistant to damage, but not indestructible. Also, dispite their lack of visable mouths/ears they CAN speak and hear perfectly well. For nurishment, they absorb light and often stand around in groups to feed when the sun is at it's highest point of the day.)"

Alien Mercenaries Season 2 starts NOW!! O_O!!

The wait is over, September is upon us and that means Alien Mercenaries Season 2 is all set to kick off the "new fall season".

Okay, real quick a note on the episode numbering from here on out: the episodes numbers will continue from Season 1 (i.e. the 1st episode of Season 2 is episode #24) but have the "Season 2" blurb before them to let people know what season it's a part of.

So, without further ado, here's episode #24 "Hard Landing"!

Expect Episode #25 sometime this month, as I'm currently looking for an apartment for my fiancee & I so my time to do photo shoots will be limited. I wanted to stick to my promise of having season 2 start in Septemeber so I buckled down last night & cranked these 15 panels out. I hope everyone enjoyed it & trust me the rest of Season 2 will only be getting better. Take care gang!

Monstrokk Hunters- #3 in a Three-Episode Limited Series!

Finally got this story done. I would have finished it sooner, as I hate leaving projects hanging around unfinished (HUGE pet-peeve of mine), but being busy in life AND getting a bit of writer's block towards the end didn't help it come out sooner. I had the first 6 panels scripted for a few weeks now, but then had to cut about 5 photographs/panels from the comic as they just didn't help with the story. They were cool shots, but having them in this episode just didn't work. The last 3 panels are photographs I literally just shot less then 2 hours ago (as of this writing) as the idea just came to me how I wanted to wrap up this story. So, without further ado, here's the final 3rd part in the Monstrokk Hunters mini-photo-comic! I hope you enjoy it & it was worth the wait. :-D

Fans of Alien Mercenaries will notice a certain familiar character in the last 2 panels, but he doesn't "sound" (i.e. his font is different) the same & has a different name. You all know him as Zov'rass, but...who is this "Ur'mond" person then??? The plot thickens! Pieces of this story will be revealed in time, possibly in another Limited Series photo comic OR in Alien Mercenaries Season 2.

OH, that reminds me. Expect a sneak-preview episode of Alien Mercenaries Season 2 to "air" here on the blog in the upcoming weeks. I want the general feel to be like Saturday morning cartoons from the 80's/90's, where a TV network would show a new/sneak peek episode the Friday BEFORE the new season started. As I have all the photos shot already for the 1st episode of Season 2 (I shot them while shooting the 4-part season 1 finale to save time), it's just a matter of me scripting them & posting them up for people to read.

Until next time, be good guys & stay tuned for more weird & wacky stuff. 8-)

Must...build..STUFF...O_@

So I got an Armodoc today, but it's technically my fiancee's as I didn't think they'd sell out so fast & didn't order the standard one for myself. BUT..I'm allowed to play with it before I give it to her next week.

With this new-found glyos toy at my disposal, I decided to muck around with it a bit. Seeing as I can't really build too much with it having only 1, I decided to see what I could do with using standard glyos parts AND the Armodoc. Using Matt's salvage mech custom as a guide, I put the following mech together. Beth's Red Rabbit is the pilot in these shots, with a wolf/dog character I made her being the "victim" of the mech...

"You didn't think it'd be THAT easy did you!?" (Robot Chicken reference)

Close up of how I connected the glyos parts to the Armodoc pelvis. Same way as Matt did it; just take a complete Gobon blaster & insert the disc-end into the pelvis leg socket. It actually holds up pretty well.

I attached the Armodoc's head & fist to see how it would look. The result? AWESOME. O_O!!

Currently in the process of sculpting some stuff, re-configuring the arms & legs from the Armodoc Mech to amp-up a figure & watching a movie on the computer. Where DO I get the energy?? O_o???

MORE new Stuff & who is this new character for my avatar???

If you look at my avatar/photo on the message boards OR here on my blog, you'll notice the picture changed. The last picture was of another character of mine, called "the Slaurian" (you also see him in this blog's logo, hanging out in the middle of the picture), but he acted as more of a place-holder for my current avatar/photo. This character is the face behind the name "Bah'glenn" and is a caricature of myself in a way. I've been meaning to get around to sculpting him, but finally got the time while on vacation this past week. I had a lot of fun sculpting his head & am very pleased with the result. So far though, his body is not 100% done yet, so keep tuning back here to see how his construction is progressing.

Here's a larger picture for you guys to check out as well.

Next up! My cousin is a big fan of sharks so I wanted to make him a little shark guy. It started out just being a head & then I began thinking "hey, why not just make it a body?". Only problem was, I'd already baked then head & never put a peg inside it. SO...I just had to sculpt a torso & attach the head to it with Sculpey. I at least made arms & articulated them, so it's more like a large Battle Beast right now. I didn't get the chance to make his lower half before my vacation ended, so right now he's using a Pheyden pelvis & legs.

Okay, that skull-headed figure on the right of that picture is/was another character I was trying to make. I wanted Rott'n'dekae to have some undead troops, so I was trying to make another skull-headed guy...but it didn't come out exactly right (to ME anyways). Sooo this gave me another idea: What about a character who SURVIVED a direct encounter with Rott'n'dekae?? I took some sculpey, and formed a face around the head, leaving the skull exposed on his right side...forever scarred from his encounter with that skeletal monstrosity.

Those above two pictures are before I baked him in the oven, this picture below is after he was baked & pegged into a home-made torso for this photo:

Still need to make a better body for him. I may or may not give him a custom torso with skeletal damage on it; I'm picturing his right shoulder & ribcage being exposed, so he's literally half alive & half dead. Again, will post more pictures of that as I'm working on it. Expect to see him in an up-coming mini-comic or in some sort of role in the future, probably once I finish making his body.

That's all for right now, I just need to take some pictures of the other stuff I made, so expect them to be up here soonish. :-D
