22nd February

No life drawing this week due to the college being shut for holidays. However, here's a picture of something cool i saw on the metro a little while back. It was one of those 12ft high posters arcing over the cieling.
Hopefully there'll be more in the way of nudity next week!

14th February

Well this evenings life drawing didnt go well at all! It might be partly the models fault since she had almost zero imagination in her poses. Heres two of the pages i drew. The only thing that I think works well is the pose standing up, and even that isnt finished! I did draw a little robot fridge man on the same page so it wasnt a complete loss of an evening! I did get chatting to some more of the others there though so that was a good result too. I changed position in the room this evening too and i think that maybe the lighting is slightly different to what ive been used to from the previous evenings, so next week Ill try and go back to my favourite position!

So, this was the best of last nights drawing. I took heed of some advice to draw at least a rough part of the face, but then neglected to complete the legs! I think the dynamic could be emphasised a little more by pushing her right should up more but im quite pleased with the construction and proportions, though i await your criticism!
The right hand drawing doesnt really do much for me other than want to draw it again. Im still relying too much on smudging the lines to try and create some form. Im not sure if its working. I guess ill research it and see what others say.

This was drawn the week before. It took half the time, and less than half the space! It does work more, but this might simply be because of the pose.
Im particularly pleased with everything below her left arm, and also her right shoulder and breast. I dont think her left arm and shoulder is very good at all, it appears to be some kind of prosthetic arm, with no shoulder, and looks like it is set further back than her right arm, i need to work on that next time.

This was my first attempt at a full a3 drawing for a long time. Personally Im quite pleased with the way it turned out, theres a lot of things wrong with it including the fact that she has few facial features to speak of. However im pleased with: the legs, the lower abdomen, her right arm. Actually, the lower half is better than the top half to be honest. And I think im relying to heavily on smudging the pencil to try and create form.
