Hands up if you're already on the look-out for stocking fillers ! Well, if you want some responsibly sourced items that support small-scale farmers and social enterprises and that use sustainable materials to help reduce the environmental impact, you might like to have a look at what Oxfam have in store. What’s more, the money raised is used to help Oxfam’s vital work fighting poverty around the world.
They sent us through some of their chocolatey gifts from the Cocoa Loco range to try out.
The first product was this lovely brown paper package of milk and white chocolate penguins. They are so chunky that you only get 9 in a 110g box but just look at that top photo to see how thick the chocolate is ! The packaging proudly boasts that they are not only organic and fairtrade but also handmade with love. The chocolate is made using the finest single origin beans in the Dominican Republic.
The milk chocolate contains 37% minimum cocoa solids and 21% minimum milk solids and the vanilla white chocolate contains 25% minimum milk solids. The milk chocolate is not bad at all but my favourite was the deliciously smooth and creamy white chocolate. They retail at £3.99, making them the perfect stocking filler or small gift for teachers and neighbours.
Another chocolate stocking filler is this Hot Chocolate Spoon which is ingenious. It's a wooden spoon with a large chunk of chocolate on the end that you stir into hot milk to make a wonderful hot chocolate. How cool is that?! It's only £1.49 so you could stock up with a whole cupboardful of these to see you through the colder months !
